    Hello,

I am new to OpenWAM. I have studied the tutorials and have successfully executed the 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder example files. I have succeeded in obtained data in the AVG files, but the INS files are empty. How can the INS files be filled?

I have attached an image showing the properties of the files for the 4 cylinder example. The image indicates that the AVG file has data in it, but the INS file is empty (e.g., 0 bytes).

    Thanks,

    Leon LaPointe

    Have the simulation finished correctly?

Yes, the simulation for the 4 cylinder model completed 100 cycles. I have attached the AVG.DAT file as well as the .WAM file I used. I have also attached the INS.DAT which is empty.

Apparently, the .DAT and .WAM files did not go through. I’ll try attaching an EXCEL file.

Probably you get an error that says something like… “the file is open and it cannot be written”. It is an strange error that happens in some computers using MS Windows.

    Hello,

You are correct, the error “the file is open and it cannot be written” does appear.

It happens if I execute the solver in the Windows 10 Pro environment or if I use a command line in a Run window.

Do you have any suggestions? Thanks.

I would entertain any suggestion(s) that may be provided regarding how to obtain INS data files operating under Windows 10. Thanks.

Is there a manner to verify that post entries are received? I have been waiting for a response since April 5 to a question I posed at that time. Should I use a different forum or other means of communication?

Sorry, I don’t know any quick solution. I think that the only way to solve the problem is to look for the bug in the code and recompile it. You have the source code available. I don’t know if you are able to do this.
