VERSION LOG
How VEMOD evolves
Updates to the VEMOD engine, VEMOD GUI and VESUALIZER. Model compatibility also depends on the simulation engine version.
Released · 29 October 202626.10.0
VEMOD simulation engine
- Twin-entry and dual-volute turbines: a new 1D model represents pulsations and interaction between the two branches, with maps for different mass flow splits.
- Diesel and petrol particulate filters: a 1D model of channels coupled through porous walls tracks soot accumulation and filtration efficiency.
- Temperatures within the filter: distributed thermal modelling of the wall, soot layer and casing, with pressure, temperature and deposit thickness profiles.
- 1D gas coolers: extended tube-and-fin geometries and longitudinal temperature, pressure and heat transfer results.
- Improved numerical stability: automatic thermal sub-stepping in pipes, refined connections near pressure equilibrium and improved mass flow filtering.
- Compatibility and outputs: updated XML schema for the new models, retaining support for legacy particulate filter identifiers.
VEMOD GUI and VESUALIZER
- Twin-entry turbines and map families by mass flow split.
- Extended configuration of 0D and 1D particulate filters and gas coolers.
- Condensation and evaporation controls in compatible plenums.
- Independent property windows and shared interactive plotting.
- Comparison of multiple results folders, experimental data and annotations.
- Cooler and filter spatial profiles and turbine branch views.

VEMOD simulation engine
- Redesigned architecture compared with the 1.10.x series, with optimised flow and thermodynamic property routines to reduce calculation costs and memory operations.
- A new modular, validated XML input format with shared fluid, material and environment definitions, legacy model conversion tools and clearer input diagnostics.
- Introduction of the 1D cooler, connected to the gas dynamics network, with heat transfer, pressure losses and condensation and evaporation models.
- Extended axial and twin-entry turbine models, alongside initialisation and calculation improvements for DOC, DPF, SCR and LNT aftertreatment systems.
VEMOD GUI and VESUALIZER
- Integrated visual modelling, calculation and post-processing environment.
- Component library for gas systems, engines, hydraulic circuits and control.
- Global reference management and model persistence.
- Web and desktop distributions and remote execution over SSH.
